The first is to simply add columns to the default body text in a word processing document. So lets create a new Pages document using the basic blank template here. Now what youve got is a word processing document. You can tell you have a word processing document by looking at File and it says Convert to Page Layout. That means youre in word processing mode and not Page Layout mode. A word processing document has one text box that basically goes from page to page. If you go to View, Show Layout you can see it.So you can see this big text box that Im in. Let me paste some text into here and you can see now it fills up

Select the add text control. Its the large capital T at the top of the page. Click on the page where youd like the page number to appear and type the number. To change the font size for the page number, select the page number and click the font size control at the top of the page.
Add Bates Numbers to PDF Mac After your document is loaded, use your mouse or trackpad to navigate to the Tool option on the top menu. The Bates Numbering option will appear. Just click on it and then click + Add import PDF files you have uploaded on PDFelement for Mac.

Bates Numbering For a single document, open the file, then select Tools / Legal Tools / Bates Numbering. Since Current Document is already selected, continue by clicking Next Make choices for your Bates number by selecting position, font, prefix / suffix and more.
Bates Numbering, also known as Bates Stamping, is an indexing method used for legal, business and medical documents (PDFs in most cases). Bates Numbers are perceived as digital reference points used to uniquely identify and label each page in a set of documents.
Open the Edit PDF menu at the top left of the screen. Select Header and Footer Add Bates Numbers. Under Format Options, you can fill in the Prefix and Suffix fields to display the text before or after the Bates number. Under Number of Digits, you can specify how many digits make up your Bates number.
In the Add Header and Footer dialog box click Page Number and Date Format and select the proper start page number. Under the Appearance Options put your cursor where you want the page number to appear then click Insert Bates Number. Set your preference.
In the Edit PDF toolbar, click More Bates Numbering Add. In the Bates Numbering dialog box, click Output Options. Select the radio button for Add to original file names and enter %BATESNUMBERKEY% in the Insert Before or Insert After fields as desired. Click on the OK button.
