Time Off: Short term leaves are classified as Time Off. The below table shows the list of Leave categorized under Time Off. Leave of Absence: In workday, long term leaves are classified as Leave of Absence. Workday profile status of employees availing these leave types will show as On Leave.
Its also known as personal / carers leave. The yearly entitlement is based on an employees ordinary hours of work. The leave is 10 days for full-time employees, and pro-rata for part-time employees. This can be calculated as 1/26 of an employees ordinary hours of work in a year.
Modify Time Off 1) From your Workday homepage, click on the Time Off and Leave worklet. 2) Click on the button labelled Correct My Time Off. 3) Navigate to the existing time off request that you want to delete or correct. Click on the request.
This means your leave entitlement will be a percentage of what a full-time employee would get, based on the number of hours you work. Personal/carers leave accrues on a pro rata basis. For example, if you work for six months, you will be entitled to at least five days paid personal/carers leave (full time employee).

This can be compounded for some by the fact that Leaves have a start and end date but Time Offs have a record per day of absence depending on the requirements of a Third Party payroll or other people systems, you may need some clever trickery from an integrations wizard to sort out these differences.
In the All About Me screen click on Time Off. Complete the Date, Type (vacation, sick, personal, etc.) and Requested (number of hours normally 7.5 for full day). Then click the green Submit button at the bottom.
Log in to Workday, select the Time Off icon, or go to Actions in your profile, and find Time and Leave. Select Request Time off, select the Type you need from the list, and fill in the details. Click Submit, and a Workday notification will be sent to your manager for approval.
