so now weamp;#39;re going to talk about external linking and external linking is really just a way of linking to anything that is not in our vault so say for example i wanted to link to a website or an external resource you could even link to files on your computer that are not in your vault by using the windows um the windows file syntax so the way we do that is we open with a square bracket like so but instead of using two square brackets like we did before weamp;#39;re gonna open a curly bracket or brace depending on where youamp;#39;re from and iamp;#39;m just gonna put your website and then i could put my website in here and youamp;#39;ll see it takes me to an external link something else to note is if you take a link like this and just paste it in obsidian will notice that itamp;#39;s an external link anyway and in some cases will even format it into this format with the url in the text field like so
