Seam allowance (sometimes called inlays) is the area between the fabric edge and the stitching line on two (or more) pieces of material being sewn together. Seam allowances can range from 14 inch (6.4 mm) wide to as much as several inches.
It uses a self-cure acrylic, which is inserted into the impression, then reseated inside the mouth and left to harden slightly, before it is removed and polished. This would then be cemented in place with a temporary (weak) cement.
Inlays are applied to the grooves (also known as pits and fissures) of the tooth, and they extend deep into the tooths roots. They usually last anywhere between five and 20 years. Although there is no assurance that they will last this long, it is possible to make them last.

So if you wanted you could wait for the glue to dry. And then just use maybe a hand plane. And smooth this flush with your workpiece.
The procedure for inlays/onlays are the same and take 2 visits over 2 weeks. Usually this takes a total of 1 to 2 hours. After preparing a tooth, the restoration is designed by an expert technician and cemented into your tooth by the dentist.
During this process, the dentist removes the portion of the tooth that is decayed and puts resin on the tooth. The dentist will then take the inlay or onlay and cement it into the tooth, followed by a polishing of the inlay or onlay. The inlay or onlay can also be made of ceramic, and the same procedure is followed.
inlay, in the visual arts, any decorative technique used to create an ornamental design, pattern, or scene by inserting or setting into a shallow or depressed ground or surface a material of a different colour or type. Inlay techniques are used in enamelwork, furniture decoration, lacquerwork, and metalwork.
Getting a dental inlay put onto your tooth is a relatively painless and straightforward process. Your dental professional will numb the damaged area of your mouth with a local anesthetic and then drill into the affected tooth to clean out the decay.
