Signed binary is very similar to binary, only that it includes negative numbers as well. The sign of the binary number is determined by the leading (furthest left) digit. If it is a 1, then it is negative, and the magnitude, or absolute value, can be found by flipping all 1s to 0s and 0s to 1s.
A binary number is built the same way as we build the normal decimal number. For example, a decimal number 45 can be represented as 4*10^1+5*10^0 = 40+5. The binary number is traversed from left to right. For example 13, +256 or -574.
