Using the same basic technique that you use for the base coat. Apply the stain in small areas following the grain of the wood.
Start by lightly scoring the wood to get a groove going. Once the groove is established, you can cut further down with less risk of your knife slipping along the wood grain. Only cut into the wood just deep enough to fit the entire inlaid piece. If you end up slightly shallow, you can sand the inlaid piece down.
Ive seen thats its best to seal the wood first before pouring the colored epoxy in order to stop the bleeding of the color.
Make a solution of 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1/2 cup of warm water and pour this into the mug (make sure it covers all of the stained area). Let this soak for a good two hours or so and then rinse, You can let it sit for longer if needed or give it a gentle scrub at the end with a cloth.
To clean your bone inlay or mother of pearl inlay furniture, please wipe with a slightly damp cloth. After some time of owning your inlay piece, if the shine comes off slightly then please apply a small amount of coconut oil and white wax and clean it with a dry cloth.
Use A Soft Toothbrush Use a soft toothbrush to scrub away any stains or dirt that may have accumulated on the surface of your bone inlay furniture. If there are stubborn areas, like dried-on food particles from lunchtime pizza slices last week, dont be afraid to use some dish soap and elbow grease!
3 Use a soft toothbrush, as this is the most effective way in restoring the shine and cleanliness of your bone inlay. This gentle tool is perfect for scrubbing away stains or dirt that may have collected on the furnitures surface and crevices.
Biological washing powder has enzymes in it that will break down any tissue left on the bones. After youve soaked the bones for 3 to 4 days, rinse them with clean water, then scrub them with an old brush and a warm water and hydrogen peroxide solution. This will disinfect them and make them whiter.
