Changing font size in LaTeX For article, book, letter, and report classes, the only available font sizes are 10pt, 11pt, and 12pt. If the accommodation specifies a font larger than 12pt, use the standard type size commands to increase the size of the font.
The default font size for Latex is 10pt.
In LaTeX the standard font sizes for a document are 10, 11 and 12pt. Internally fonts used may be larger or smaller. Overall the standard available font sizes are 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 17, 20 and 25pt; available through macros like \tiny through \Huge .

Changing font size in LaTeX If no font size is specified in the \documentclass , the default size is 10pt. For article, book, letter, and report classes, the only available font sizes are 10pt, 11pt, and 12pt.
The default for \normalsize is 10-point, but it may differ for some Document Styles or their options. The actual size produced by these commands also depends on the Document Style and, in some styles, more than one of these size commands may produce the same actual size.
Latex Fonts: The point size can be described in the way [10pt]. The other font sizes are 8pt, 9pt, 10pt, 11pt, 12pt, 14pt, 17pt, 20pt. The default font size for Latex is 10pt.
