The utility allows you to convert EML and EMLX files to DOCX files. Here are several EML files for the example. We need to convert them into DOCX format. Specify the folder with EML files on your disk or network share. Specify the target folder for resulting .docx files. Run the tool and wait until it finishes. In the end, you can see the number of files converted. All of the resulting files are in the destination folder. You can open and edit these files in Microsoft Word. Please note that the document contains the message header and the message text in the original format. You can convert EML/EMLX files to other formats or import them directly to Outlook using our free utilities.

Proprietary formats (e.g.; . docx, . xls, . ppt, .exe) should be used only when necessary e.g., when providing forms or other documents that users may need to edit or files for installing software.
PDF is a better choice for documents that need to maintain a specific layout, such as contracts or forms, while DOCX is better for documents that need to be edited and formatted, such as reports or essays.
DOCX (Office Open XML Document) DOCX is the successor to DOC and was introduced with Microsoft Word 2007. It employs the XML-based file format, which organizes document data in a more structured and interoperable manner. DOCX files are smaller in size and less prone to corruption.
DOCX is the newer and more advanced format, introduced in 2007 as part of the Office Open XML standard. It stands for document file XML, and it is the default format for Microsoft Word since 2007.
DOCX files are compatible with newer versions of Microsoft Word, and can also be opened by other applications like Google Docs or LibreOffice, but may lose some features or formatting. DOCX files are also smaller, safer, and more flexible than DOC files, as they can support more elements like images, charts, or macros.
Potential for formatting errors: While DOCX offers rich formatting options, complex layouts, and styles may not always translate accurately across different word processing applications. Users may encounter formatting errors or discrepancies when opening DOCX files in software other than Microsoft Word.
If an attacker creates a . docx file and convinces the victim to open the file and press enable content, the file will load a malicious template file from a remote location that executes malware. While the . docx doesnt contain the macro code itself, the content of the file leads to execution of the macro.
