Obtaining category links by slug in WordPress is a common requirement when customizing themes or developing plugins. By utilizing the getcategorylink() function or the WPTermQuery class, you can easily retrieve category links based on their slugs.
Showing Taxonomy Title, URL, and More in WordPress First, you need to copy and paste the following code into your taxonomy template: This gets the information of the current taxonomy based on the page you are on.
Go to WPML Settings and scroll down to the Taxonomies Translation section. Set your custom taxonomy to one of the two Translate options. You can show only translated items on the front-end or show the taxonomy in the default language when a translation isnt there. Click Save.
You can get the current language by using two WPML hooks, wpmlcurrentlanguage, and wpmlpostlanguagedetails. The wpmlcurrentlanguage is ideal for getting the sites current language, while the wpmlpostlanguagedetails provides detailed information about a posts language attributes.
You can translate taxonomies right where you add or edit them, such as in Posts Categories or Posts Tags. Simply edit the term you want to translate and then in the Language meta box, click to add a translation.
Go to WPML Settings and scroll down to Slug translations. 2. Check the box to enable custom post type and taxonomy slug translations. Click Save.
To allow hidden languages to be accessible to specific users, go to Users - All Users, click Edit next to the user you want to grant access to. In the WPML language settings section, check the Display hidden languages checkbox and then click the Update Profile button to save the changes.
To do this, go to the WPML - Settings page. There, scroll to the Taxonomies Translation section and set your custom taxonomy to Translate. Note that you can set the Translate option to show only translated items on the front-end or to use translation if available or fallback to the default language.
