Wet inlays work best on cardboard and paper. For curved or rough surfaces, or those likely to be contaminated with dust or moisture, dry inlays are the better choice, because they allow users to apply an adhesive that will hold up better in such surfaces.
There are two main types of RFID tags: Active RFID. An active RFID tag has its own power source, often a battery. Passive RFID. A passive RFID tag receives its power from the reading antenna, whose electromagnetic wave induces a current in the RFID tags antenna.
RFID chips are often embedded in special tags or labels, each with its own antenna, and these tags can be read by RFID readers. RAIN RFID chips need no dedicated power source to operate; they are powered by the radio waves sent by the RAIN RFID reader.
Wet vs. Dry: A wet NFC inlay has adhesive on the back, similar to an NFC sticker and can be peeled off the liner to be applied to another product. A dry NFC inlay is a complete product on a roll, with no adhesive and no liner.
RFID wet inlays are passive RFID inlays with an adhesive backing that can be either applied to a product directly or converted into smart labels (integrated into a paper or plastic label).
