What Size Frame for a 8x10 Print? You would need a 11 x 14 or 16 x 20 size frame.
In the picture framing industry, a mat (or matte, or mount in British English) is a thin, flat piece of paper-based material included within a picture frame, which serves as additional decoration and to perform several other, more practical functions, such as separating the art from the glass.
1 #3 Paper sizes vs. Frame sizes - what am I missing? Most photos that get put into frames are also mattedso for an 8x10 frame I would typically put a 5x7 photo matted to 8x10. an 8.5x11 print fits nicely into an 11x14 frame after matting.
Inset Frames are designed to house artwork that has been painted on to board. Normally the artwork is finished in oil or acrylic and painted directly on a 3mm(approx) artist board. When framed, the edges of the artist board will be visible so none of the artwork is hidden behind a rebate or mount.
Types of Framing. In general, there are four different types of elements you can use to create a frame within your shot and draw the viewers attention: architectural, natural, geometric shapes, and light/shadow.

8x10 is another standard size, and the artwork of my 8.5x11 prints will all fit inside that opening.
Standard Picture Frame Sizes 4 x 6 5 x 7 8 x 10 8.5 x 11 11 x 17 13 x 19 16 x 20 18 x 24
Great. Go find an 8 X 10 frame from a store, online, or wherever and it should fit. You might even find frames at department stores that can accommodate two sizes; the frame itself would have an opening of 11 X 14, for instance, but it would come with a matboard with an 8 X 10 opening.
Hence the largest print that I ever put in an 8x10 frame is about 5x7. And for an 8x10 print I tend to use 11x14 (or larger) frames.
