In last weeks tutorial, we took a look at Excelamp;#39;s header and footer feature. In this tutorial, Iamp;#39;m gonna show you how you can create a mini visual basic routine. Thatamp;#39;s gonna link your Excel page headers, so which is this one right here, to a specific cell. Okay, so what we want to do is this: the header should be on the top left hand side, so you should be right here. It should be linked to cell A2 of each sheet, and it should be visible once the sheet is printed. Now, if you ever tried to do this, you have probably noticed that you canamp;#39;t use formulas inside that header dialogue box. So, I can show you right here. If we go to page layout and click on this icon to see the full page setup: under header footer, custom header, for the left one Weamp;#39;re interested in the left. Click the Effects menu on the Detailed Settings tab. Select the Header/Footer check box. Select the items that you want to print on header and footer, Date and Time, Page Number, and Text. To edit the header and footer items, click Details to open the Edit Header/Footer dialog box.
On the Insert tab, click Header Footer. Excel automatically changes to Page Layout view. On Header Footer tab, click either the Header or Footer, and then select the page number format you want. Header page numbers appear at the top of the printed page, and footer page numbers appear at the bottom.
Go to Insert Header or Footer. Choose from a list of standard headers or footers, go to the list of Header or Footer options, and select the header or footer that you want. Or, create your own header or footer by selecting Edit Header or Edit Footer. When youre done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.
The most common cause of this problem is that the bottom margin, footer margin, or page border is outside the printable area of the page. All printers have an irreducible unprintable area necessitated by the mechanical requirements of paper handling.
