hereamp;#39;s an Excel technique for retaining the original sort order in your data so letamp;#39;s say I have some data here and I want to sort it maybe I want to sort it by date but I know that I also want to revert back to the original sort order because thatamp;#39;s important to us so before we do any sorting here weamp;#39;re going to add an index column and weamp;#39;re going to go to the right of the table here and Iamp;#39;m just going to type a 1 in this cell and 2 in the next cell and Iamp;#39;ll select both of those and double click the fill handle and thatamp;#39;s going to create this list of sequential numbers here and these are hard-coded values and I like to call this an index column you can call it whatever you want but Iamp;#39;m going to call it an index column so now that I have my index column I can go sort the other column so again maybe I want to sort by date here maybe I want to sort by the item and I can continue to sort across columns and when I want

Tap to select the cell that contains the data you want to fill into other cells, and then tap the cell a second time to open the Edit menu. Tap Fill, and then tap and drag the fill arrows down or to the right.
To create a data table in Excel, you can follow these steps: Select the cells youd like to convert. First, open Excel and input the data youd like to include in the table by entering it as organized rows and columns. Open the Create Table window. Customize parameters and create your table. Edit as needed.
Fill data automatically in worksheet cells Select one or more cells you want to use as a basis for filling additional cells. For a series like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, type 1 and 2 in the first two cells. Drag the fill handle . If needed, click Auto Fill Options. and choose the option you want.
To fill cells in Excel Mobile for Windows 10, Excel for Android tablets or phones, or Excel for iPads or iPhones, you first tap a cell, row, or column that you want to fill into other cells. Then you tap it again, tap Fill, and then drag a green fill handle to the cells you want to fill.
