Hi, this is Anne with Graphic Design How To, and today Iamp;#39;m going to talk about copyright infringement and trademark infringement when youamp;#39;re selling designs online, specifically on Etsy. Some of you might know that Iamp;#39;ve been a graphic designer for quite a while and I also have an Etsy shop. These things that Iamp;#39;m going to tell you are things that I do personally to avoid copyright and trademark infringement in my Etsy shop. Now, I am not a lawyer, so take these with a grain of salt. But these are just the things that I do. #1: I make my own designs. When Iamp;#39;m making a new design, I donamp;#39;t even look at someone elseamp;#39;s design. So in this case, I probably wouldnamp;#39;t have come up with this idea. If your design resembles someone elseamp;#39;s too closely, they can file an infringement claim. Copyright law gives certain exclusive rights to creators, including the right to reproduce, distribute, and make adaptations from their works. Unauthorized use of anothers copyrighted work is copyright infringement. Fair use is an important defense that sometimes applies to claims of copyright infringement.
Theres no safe duration for using copyrighted music without explicit permission. Merely giving credit to the owner doesnt grant legal rights to their music.

While giving credit is generally considered an ethical practice, it does not automatically grant legal permission to use someone elses copyrighted material. Copyright infringement occurs when someone uses, copies, or distributes copyrighted material without the explicit authorisation of the copyright owner.
