Mill inlay Milling involves grinding down into the upper layer of the existing asphalt in order to remove any cracks, ruts and imperfections. Then we place a layer of inlay paving on top of the milled surface, which fills any holes and levels it off. Finally, we place an asphalt overlay on top to finish the process.
Inlay - The old road surface is planed off and replaced with a suitable material. This can also involve removing and replacing lower levels of the road. Overlay - Consists of adding material to the existing road to improve the profile and add strength.
Machine resurfacing (inlay surfacing) Some or all of the existing surface is removed using a planer and a completely new surface is laid as a replacement. The planed area will have the manholes and gullies adjusted and replaced if needed to suit the new road surface levels.
Grind Inlay Program This process is used for residential roads that have too many defects to make it cost effective to apply a slurry seal. This process involves grinding the existing asphalt, freshening up the rock or sub-base, fixing major curb, sidewalk and drainage problems and then applying new asphalt.
Seam allowance (sometimes called inlays) is the area between the fabric edge and the stitching line on two (or more) pieces of material being sewn together. Seam allowances can range from 14 inch (6.4 mm) wide to as much as several inches.
