To put three conditions in an IF formula in Excel, you can use nested IF functions, or use the IFS function instead. To nest multiple IF functions, use the following format =IF(logicaltest1, IF(logicaltest2, IF(logicaltest3,),),).
Entering An Array Formula Press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to confirm this formula (instead of just pressing ENTER). This will produce curly brackets {} around the formula. These curly brackets are how Excel recognises an array formula. They cannot be entered manually, they must be produced by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.
Otherwise, the formula must be entered as a legacy array formula by first selecting the output range, entering the formula in the top-left-cell of the output range, and then pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to confirm it. Excel inserts curly brackets at the beginning and end of the formula for you.
In the Formula Bar, the formula is enclosed in braces, { }, meaning that it is an array formula. This is automatically done when you press Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Dont type these braces. If you do, Excel will interpret your formula as text, not as a formula.
The curly braces around an entire formula in the Formula Bar indicates that it was array-entered. That is, it was entered by pressing ctrl+shift+Enter instead of just Enter. You cannot enter the curly braces manually. Usually, that results in Excel treating the formula as text.

If you clicked IF, the Function arguments dialog box displays the arguments for the IF function. To nest another function, you can enter it into the argument box. For example, you could enter SUM(G2:G5) in the Valueiftrue box of the IF function. Enter any additional arguments that are needed to complete your formula.
