In case, if we want to change the state of CheckBox to ON (Checked), then we need to set android:checked = true in our XML layout file. In android, we can create CheckBox control in two ways either in the XML layout file or create it in the Activity file programmatically.
Basically, we add functionality to the Button, that if the CheckBox is checked, a Toast message would appear. Here we can add an intent to move to the next activity. If the CheckBox is not checked, then the Checkbox text changes to Please Accept this! and turns the text color to red.
To define the click event handler for a checkbox, add the android:onClick attribute to the element in your XML layout. The value for this attribute must be the name of the method you want to call in response to a click event.
Important Note: You can check the current state of a check box programmatically by using isChecked() method. This method returns a Boolean value either true or false, if a check box is checked then it returns true otherwise it returns false. Below is an example code in which we checked the current state of a check box.
The most straightforward way to check whether a checkbox is checked is to use the checked property. This property is a boolean value that indicates whether the checkbox is checked or not. For example, the following code would check whether the checkbox with the ID myCheckbox is checked: var isChecked = document.
Android CheckBox Example android:layoutwidth=matchparent android:layoutheight=matchparent tools:context=example.javatpoint.com.checkbox.MainActivity
To create a checkbox, use the input element, specify checkbox as the type, specify a name using the name attribute, and provide a value using the value attribute. As with radio buttons, all checkboxes that have the same value for the name attribute are considered a group.
