You simply type \LaTeX . One problem with this is that if you type it a lot of times in your text you will need to type \LaTeX\␣ (i.e., followed by \ and an actual space) to force a space after it. \xspace is from the xspace package.
A LaTeX file can be created in any text editor, and then parsed by a TeX typesetting system to create an output document. LaTeX is widely used by mathematicians, physicists, engineers, and, in fact, most researchers in academia to prepare scientific reports, papers and books.
The \texttt{} command This one isnt a verbatim way to express code, but it will change the font to typewriter , so it looks like code.
Text. Writing text in a LaTeX document is easy. Once you are inside the body of the document, as described in the Document Structure section of this page, all you have to do is start typing. When you compile the code LaTeX will take care of all the text formatting based on any commands and packages used.
By default, in standard LaTeX classes the default style for text is usually a Roman (upright) serif font. To use other styles (families) such as sans serif, typewriter (monospace) etc. you need to use some specific LaTeX commands, as shown in the example below: In this example, a command and a switch are used.
Changing default font typeface The font can also be changed for a specific element in the document. The command \fontfamily{qcr}\selectfont will set the TeX gyre cursor font typeface, whose fontcode is qcr , for the text inside the braces.
TeX is a typesetting language. Instead of visually formatting your text, you enter your manuscript text intertwined with TeX commands in a plain text file.
We can change the font style in a LaTeX document using one or a combination of the ones below: \textbf{bold text} \textit{italic text} \texttt{typewriter text} \underline{underlined text}
