To enable automatic topic creation on an existing cluster through the Ambari Web UI, use the following steps: From the Azure portal, select your Kafka cluster. Select the Kafka service from the list on the left of the page. Select Configs in the middle of the page. In the Filter field, enter a value of auto.
Apache Kafka has a dedicated and fundamental unit for Event or Message organization, called Topics. In other words, Kafka Topics are Virtual Groups or Logs that hold messages and events in a logical order, allowing users to send and receive data between Kafka Servers with ease.
Messages are typically consumed, processed, and acknowledged. Kafka Stream: Designed for continuous stream processing with support for windowed operations and stateful processing. Kafka Topic: Stores and forwards messages without inherent stream processing capabilities.
Apache Kafka is a distributed data store optimized for ingesting and processing streaming data in real-time. Streaming data is data that is continuously generated by thousands of data sources, which typically send the data records in simultaneously.
Kafka topics are the categories used to organize messages. Each topic has a name that is unique across the entire Kafka cluster. Messages are sent to and read from specific topics. In other words, producers write data to topics, and consumers read data from topics. Kafka topics are multi-subscriber.
How to create a Kafka topic? If Kafka v2. 2+, use the Kafka hostname and port e.g., localhost:9092. If older version of Kafka, use the Zookeeper URL and port e.g. localhost:2181. Provide the mandatory parameters: topic name, number of partitions and replication factor. Use the kafka-topics.sh CLI with the --create option.
An example topic name could be payments. Topics in Kafka are always multi-producer and multi-subscriber: a topic can have zero, one, or many producers that write events to it, as well as zero, one, or many consumers that subscribe to these events.
Step 1: Start the zookeeper as well as the kafka server initially. Step2: Type the command: kafka-console-consumer on the command line. This will help the user to read the data from the Kafka topic and output it to the standard outputs.
