An easy way to get all the tags in an XML file, will be to bring it in as a Text File (CSV or Flat-file) and then use a Regex tool to ise to new lines on . You can then use a summarize tool to group by.
The tagName read-only property of the Element interface returns the tag name of the element on which its called. For example, if the element is an , its tagName property is IMG (for HTML documents; it may be cased differently for XML/XHTML documents).
The tag names of elements in an XML DOM tree are returned in the same case in which theyre written in the original XML file. If an XML document includes a tag , then the tagName propertys value is SomeTag .
It must contain only alphabetical characters, decimal digits, underscores, periods (.), and hyphens (-). It must not be more than 1,024 characters long. Colons that appear in names indicate namespace demarcation. Therefore, you can use colons only to specify an XML namespace for a particular name.
The unofficial tag is used to embed XML data within HTML. Note that the tag is an HTML element, not an XML element. Data Islands can be bound to HTML elements (like HTML tables). In the example below, an XML Data Island with an ID cdcat is loaded from an external XML file.
XML has three types of tags: opening tags, closing tags, and empty tags. XML tag names are enclosed in angle brackets and are case sensitive. Items in an XML-compliant document or data set are always enclosed in paired opening and closing tags, and the tags must be properly nested.
The way to get the value of an attribute, is to get its text value. This can be done using the getAttribute() method or using the nodeValue property of the attribute node.
The element contains a heading or label for the main parts of a topic: the topic as a whole, sections, examples, and labelled content such as figures and tables.
