Merge simply merges events from all observables of same type in the order they are received, without combining them. CombineLatest combines the latest events from all observables every time any of them emits an event. Zip combines events from all observables only when all of them have emitted an event.
The main difference between zip and forkJoin is that zip combines values on an ongoing basis, while forkJoin only emits values after all of the input Observables have been completed. In the zip example, we combine the values from two observables ( first and second ) into a new observable zipResult .
Forkjoin is called once when all given streams have data and after that ends his stream lifetime after that. CombineLatest is listening to given streams all the time until you destroy it. CombineLatest will be called the first time after all streams have data and then after any of them will change.
Concurrency in Java is made simpler and more efficient with the ExecutorService and Fork/Join Framework. The ExecutorService manages threads, making it easier to execute tasks concurrently, while the Fork/Join Framework is designed for parallel processing, allowing you to divide and conquer complex tasks.
If you need to combine values from multiple observables that emit more than once and are interdependent, consider using combineLatest instead. And for scenarios where observables emit only once or you just need their last values, forkJoin might be a more suitable choice.
Its also worth noting that if you have an observable that emits more than one item, and you are concerned with the previous emissions forkJoin is not the correct choice. In these cases you may be better off with an operator like combineLatest or zip.
forkJoin is an RxJS operator that allows you to wait for multiple Observables to complete and then emits their latest value as an array. Heres what well cover in this article: How to use forkJoin in Angular. Realistic examples of forkJoin.
