hey hey it has been a while um superhero day at work but someone just asked me they were getting really frustrated theyamp;#39;re using google sheets this is not excel and they wanted to create a line break or a space between the two lines to not have to switch to a different cell to just create a nice gap um and then add their new text so iamp;#39;m going to show you really quick um i am just doing this all right so he didnamp;#39;t want to go down to this additional space he wanted to create a space within this box and youamp;#39;ll see what happens is if you just create if you just hit enter itamp;#39;s going to jump you to the next cell so trick there is if you are on a pc you are going to go to where you want the line break and hit alt enter and if you are on a mac you are going to press command option enter command option enter and there we have our next space um so now i want to start typing here i just created a beautiful space between my two lines of text you donamp;#39;

Changing the row height will create additional space in a cell, which often makes it easier to view cell content. Hover the mouse over the line between two rows. The cursor will turn into a double arrow. Click and drag the row border down to increase the height.
To format line spacing: Select the text you want to format. Click the Line spacing button, then select the desired line spacing option from the drop-down menu.
Use the shortcut: Alt + Enter (Windows) or Cmd + Enter (Mac). Repeat these steps to split the text into as many lines as you want. Press Enter to see the result. In addition to the shortcut, you can use the CHAR(10) function in your formulas to insert line breaks.
