Binary shape analysis refers to the examination and interpretation of shapes or. patterns represented in binary form, typically as a series of 1s and 0s.
A binary image consists of foreground and background pixels, having only 2 gray levels, 1 and 0, respectively (generation of binary images is discussed in Chapter 7, Image Segmentation).
