There are two ways you can wrap your values, either single quotes or double quotes. Both single and double quotes are valid in HTML and all browsers support them.
I personally find the named HTML entities easier to remember: apos; for (known as single quote or apostrophe, Unicode character U+0027) quot; for (known as double quote or quotation mark, Unicode character U+0022)
The obvious work around is to rename the folders to not have single quotes in them. But single quotes are valid characters in normal urls.
In XML, string literals are delimited by either a pair of single quotes, e.g., a string literal, or a pair of double quotes, e.g., a string literal. Remember to escape single or double quotes using the ampersand notation, e.g., Tomapos;s thumb and Response: quot;Noquot;.
In the real world, yes, you can use both double or single quotes. However, the HTML standard is double qoutes first, then single quotes if you have data with double quotes.
In American English, single quotation marks should not be used to quote, add emphasis, indicate sarcasm, denote specialized terms, or indicate a title. Single quotation marks should only be used when quoting within another quote, like the example above, or for a quote within a news headline.
The HTML element indicates that the enclosed text is a short inline quotation. Most modern browsers implement this by surrounding the text in quotation marks. This element is intended for short quotations that dont require paragraph breaks; for long quotations use the element.
The quote types are interchangeable, as long as they are used in matching pairs. But it is a good practice to use one type consistently. Some style guides indicate a preference for one or the other, usually double quote (). Google style guide recommends double quotes () for HTML, and single() for CSS.
