Microsoft Office Publisher Select “Tools” Select “Commercial Printing Tools” Choose “Color Printing” Choose “Process Colors (CMYK)” Click “OK”
If you are printing at home, be sure to convert your image files to CMYK before you print. This will ensure that your images are optimized for print. To convert files to CMYK in Photoshop, select Edit>Convert to Profile>Working CMYK then follow the prompts.
If you're designing an image for printing purposes, you must increase the ppi settings on the original document to have the highest quality image output. A ppi of 220 to 300 provides a high-quality image for printing while still maintaining a manageable file size.
Coated FOGRA27 (ISO 12647-2:2004) This is the standard CMYK profile for printing onto coated paper stocks. It delivers bright, vibrant colors and has a good overall balance between print quality and ink coverage.
As a general rule, it's best to use the CMYK color profile for print design and the RGB color profile for web design. However, there are some situations where you may want to use a different color profile.
As a quick reference, the RGB color mode is best for digital work, while CMYK is used for print products.
PHOTOSHOP PRINT DIALOG SETUP Choose your printer from the "Printer" drop down menu first. Choose "Photoshop Manages Color" from the "Color Handling" drop down. Now select the profile for your printer and paper in the "Printer Profile" drop down.
When printing in Photoshop, you have a few color profiles to choose from. The default profile is “Standard”. This is a bit too light for most printing applications, so you'll want to use the “Print Standard” profile if you're printing photos. If you're printing text, you'll want to use the “Text” profile.
How to choose the correct CMYK profile GRACoL is the recommended profile for images going out for sheetfed reproduction. ... We recommend SWOP 3 or SWOP 5 for web press. ... If the images will be printed in Europe, then you will probably want to choose one of the FOGRA CMYK profiles.
Choose File > Print. In the Print dialog box, specify the desired options. For details, see Print dialog box options. Click Print.
