[Music] one of the questions were asked the most here at moab is how do i select a paper that best represents my image when i print it today im going to give you a few tips to make that decision a little easier first off papers are divided into two groups photo black or glossy papers and matte black or matte papers the big differences between the two are that a photo black paper has some sort of a reflective finish to it from a subtle brighter up to a high gloss because of this the paper reflects a little more light back to the viewer which makes colors appear a little more saturated blacks a little darker and shadows have a little more detail a matte black paper does not have any surface sheen to it so it reflects a little less light and because of this colors may appear a little less saturated blacks wont be quite as dark and shadows may not have quite as much apparent detail in your print but we use those two characteristics based on how we want the viewer to see our final imag

Inkjet photo paper. Photo paper is inkjet paper specifically for printing photographs. It is a bright white due to bleaching or pigments such as titanium dioxide, and has been coated with a highly absorbent material that limits diffusion of the ink. Highly refined clay is a common coating to prevent ink spread.
What makes any given paper specifically an inkjet paper are the coatings found in the surface, which unlike photographic paper are not at all light-sensitive, but instead are designed to accept dye and/or pigment-based inks. And unlike photo paper, you can't ruin it by opening the box in daylight.

In addition to traditional and not-so-traditional papers, you can find overhead transparency film that's ready to print and present. To use these clear sheets in your printer, choose the right stock so it provides trouble-free output.
No set standard makes a printer-specific to photos. You can, in theory, use almost any home printer to create black-and-white or color prints. Most printer software products include custom settings that will change the resolution of your print job to make them near perfect for photos.
Generally 80 – 90 gsm paper is preferable for most printers and copiers.
There are many different types of Glossy Paper suitable for Inkjet printing. Glossy Paper is most commonly used for high-quality prints to make advertisements, flyers, posters and to print photographs. It gives your print that extra something you or your customer could be looking for.
