The image file format must be PNG, JPG, or GIF. You cannot paste an image into a cell that already contains text. To put an image under text in Google Sheets, you can right-click the image and select Image options. Then, select the Text wrapping option and open the drop-down menu.
While Google Sheets does not directly support setting a background image, you can achieve a similar effect using a workaround. Heres how: Insert the desired image into your sheet using the Insert menu or the IMAGE function. Resize the image to cover the entire sheet area you want as the background.
Add an image to a spreadsheet On your computer, open a spreadsheet in Google Sheets. Click the cell where you want to add an image. Click Insert. Image. Select to place your image in the cell or over the the cells. Cells with an image cannot also have text. Choose an image or take a snapshot. Click Open or Select.
Heres how: Insert the desired image into your sheet using the Insert menu or the IMAGE function. Resize the image to cover the entire sheet area you want as the background.
You can also right-click the object to access the drop-down menu. Click Order, then Send to back. This will send the object to the back of the slide. You can also use the shortcut CTRL + Shift + (Windows) or CMD + Shift + (Mac).
Right-click, move to Order, and pick Bring forward or Bring to front. Pick Arrange in the menu, move to Order, and pick Bring forward or Bring to front. On Windows, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Up arrow to bring the image forward or Ctrl + Shift + Up arrow to bring it to the front.
Right-click the image and select Image options. Then, select the Text wrapping option and open the drop-down menu. Put the image behind the text.
