The needle for IM injections can be 22-23 Gauge, 1-1.5 inches in length, adjusted for thickness of site. Find a comfortable, well-lit working place and inject at the same time each day.
The most common needle size for IM injections is between 22G to 25G in width and 1 inch to 1.5 inches in length. The needle needs to be long enough to docHub the muscle and wide enough to draw up and deliver the medication.
The 23-gauge, 1-inch and 25-gauge, 1-inch needles are standard for testosterone injections. The smaller-gauge needle (higher number) will reduce tissue scarring after years of TRT. Needle sizes above 25-gauge may be used, but it may take longer to withdraw and administer the solution.
Your injecting needle should be long enough to docHub through the subcutaneous fat layer into the muscle (usually 1.25 or 1.5 inch), and a guage between 22g - 25g. Never re-use a needle. IM injections should be done in the vastus lateralis (thigh), or ventrogluteal (hip/butt) muscle.
The upper thigh is a good site if you are doing self- injection of your medication. your thigh, and imagine dividing it into a three by three grid. The injection will go into the outer middle third. alcohol swab; let the skin air dry (do not pat or blow on skin to dry it).
Adults weighing 130152 lbs (6070 kg): Use of a 1 needle is recommended. Women weighing 152200 lbs (7090 kg) and men weighing 152260 lbs (70118 kg): Use of a 11 needle is recommended. Women weighing more than 200 lbs (90 kg) or men weighing more than 260 lbs (118 kg): Use of a 1 needle is recommended.
Administer vaccine using either a 1-mL or 3-mL syringe. Use a 22- to 25-gauge needle. Use the correct needle length based on the patients gender and weight. For adults, use a 1- to 1.5-inch needle.
Intramuscular shots are given at a 90 angle with the needle going straight through the skin into the muscle. A subcutaneous injection is a way of injecting medication into the subcutaneous tissue that is directly under the skin.
