Text. Writing text in a LaTeX document is easy. Once you are inside the body of the document, as described in the Document Structure section of this page, all you have to do is start typing. When you compile the code LaTeX will take care of all the text formatting based on any commands and packages used.
There are a few ways to enter math mode, however the most common is $. $, where the text within the dollar signs is in the math mode environment. You have already been using math mode unknowingly by using the \begin{equation} and \end{equation} commands.
Referencing Equations \begin{equation} \label{eq:pythagorean} a1^2 + b1^2 = c1^2 \end{equation} An example table can be seen in \ref{eq:pythagorean}. Also note how the Equation prefix is automatically added within the document text whenever the reference is called.
If you want LaTeX to automatically number or re-number equations in a document you should insert the text \label{EqLabel} after the equation and inside the equation environment, where EqLabel is any label you choose, possibly to help you to remember the equation, e.g.
How do you write real numbers in LaTeX? If you mean the symbol for the set of real numbers, R , you write it as \mathbb{R}. Similarly, its \mathbb{N} for the natural numbers, \mathbb{Z} for the integers, and so on.
To create a numbered list in LaTeX, you can use the \begin{enumerate} command along with the \item command. You can also create sub-levels of the numbered lists by adding a sub-command within the greater enumerate environment.
LaTeX numbering \ref gives the number to which the label refers, \eqref includes the number in parantheses, \pageref gives the page where the reference was created.
Equation numbering You can also use the \label and \ref (or \eqref from the amsmath package) commands to label and reference equations, respectively. Note: Although it may look like the \renewcommand works by itself, it wont reset the equation number with each new section.
