An abutment level impression is indicated when there is a need to replace the existing old implant- supported crown. This procedure is similar to the normal crown and bridge technique. In this technique, the final abutment is fixed on top of the implant in the patients mouth.
With the 1-step procedure, low viscosity impression material is injected around the prepared tooth or teeth, and then the putty impression material is immediately placed intraorally and the materials polymerize simultaneously.
The monophase technique is a single-stage, one-phase impression technique. One impression material, usually of medium viscosity, is used for filling the tray and for syringing the prepared teeth (fig. 46). Usage of an individual tray is recommended, to achieve a uniform material thickness and at least some pressure.
In the one-step technique, the base and catalyst of the putty material are mixed in ratios recommended by the manufacturer. Then, the light body is injected around the prepared tooth by a syringe, and the putty is applied in a tray [10]. There are several problems with both of these two-step impression techniques.
The first step in recording an impression, such as a shoeprint or tire tread, is to take a photograph of the impression at the crime scene. Therefore, This photographic documentation captures the impressions original state before any other actions are taken.
