This video is going to explain how to apply headings to a Microsoft Word document. Now I have a preferred method for applying headings. And the first thing I like to do is press Ctrl F on my keyboard to bring up the navigation menu. From here, Iamp;#39;m going to select headings on the left hand side. Now as I begin to add headings, we will see them appear in this navigation menu. The goal here is to build an outline of the heading structure to make sure that all of our headings are in the correct order. The very first set of words on the page are called volcano practice, this is going to be our heading level one. Now, thereamp;#39;s a couple different ways that I can apply this, I can select Heading One from the quick sales menu, or I can press Control Alt, and the corresponding number on the keyboard. So for formation, Iamp;#39;m going to select CTRL ALT two, to apply a heading level two. And then on the left hand side, we can see our outline begin to take shape. Iamp;#39;m going

The simplest way to add headings is to use heading styles. Select the text you want to use as a heading. On the Home tab, click the heading style you want to use. If you dont see the style you want, click a left, right, or down arrow to see more available styles.
To collapse or expand all the headings in your document, right-click the heading and click Expand/Collapse Expand All Headings or Collapse All Headings.
In the Navigation pane, select the Headings tab. To go to a heading in your document, click that heading in the Navigation pane.
Organise headings Right-click a heading in the Navigation Pane for a shortcut list of options for organising the headings in your document. Use Promote and Demote to move the selected heading up or down within the hierarchy of your document structure.
Demote or Promote Items Outline view makes it very easy to adjust the outline level of a heading. Click the item in your document that you want to promote or demote. Click a Promote or Demote option from the Outline Tools group.
Press Ctrl and F to open Navigation Select Headings tab Click the original Heading 1, right click Select Heading and Content Press Alt + Shift + to a lower level.
Click VIEW Ruler. Double-click the header or footer area. Press CTRL+A. On the ruler, drag the right indent marker. Drag the left indent marker.
Remove all headers and footers Go to Insert Header or Footer, and then select Remove Header or Remove Footer. If your document has more than one section, repeat this process for each section.
