Okay, so thereamp;#39;s a new official add-in from Microsoft called the Advanced Formula Editor. Remember the problem with Name Manager in Excel? It actually has multiple problems. Itamp;#39;s so small, we have one little box, we canamp;#39;t move around easily, and we get no help for the formula arguments. Now, this is already frustrating with normal formulas but especially so when it comes to writing LAMBDAs. So, in case youamp;#39;re wondering what LAMBDAs are, I have different videos on this and Iamp;#39;m going to link them below and in the cards as well. So, letamp;#39;s take a first look at the Advanced Editor and see how we could potentially use it as a replacement for Name Manager. Iamp;#39;ve opened up a blank workbook; to grab the add-in, go to Insert, Get Add-ins, and just type in amp;quot;Advanced Formulaamp;quot; and you should see it pop up here. Itamp;#39;s the Advanced Formula Environment. Click on amp;quot;Add,amp;quot; and then a

Go to Visual Basic Editor and press CTRL+V to paste the formula in VBA format in your code.
Formula. The best and easiest way to enter a formula programmatically in a cell (even if you are a pro) is to write it in a cell, select it with its equal sign from the formula bar and paste it between quotation marks in your code.
You can simply: Start recording. Type the formula (with relative / absolute references as needed) into the cell press enter. Stop recording. Open VBA and review the formula, adapting as needed and copying+pasting the code where needed.
0:00 0:59 We can use a little known function called n. It has just one argument. Value when a number is givenMoreWe can use a little known function called n. It has just one argument. Value when a number is given a number is returned. However when a text string is given it returns zero.
Try it! Select a cell. Type the equal sign =. Type or select a cell, or type in a function, like SUM. Enter an operator, like minus -, or select the cells or range that are part of the function. Press Enter for the result. The result shows in the cell, but you can always see the formula in the Formula bar.
If Statement Structure in VBA If statements begin with an If [CRITERIA] Then statement. If the user does not wish to add additional statements, the if statement is closed by an End If. In the above example, no false statement is present.
Click a blank cell where you want to add your formula, then type the equal sign (=) to open the Formula Editor. Type the equation you want to calculate, using values and arithmetic operators (for example, +,-,*, and /).
If the formula contains double quotes, you must double these when building the formula as a string. For example, to build the formula =IF(A2=dog,5,) you might use the following VBA code: ActiveCell. Formula = =IF(A2=dog,5,)
