You could see that you have these gray cells at the top and on the left. This is a Header Row. This is a Header Column. The cells there are a little bit different than the ones you see here in the body of the table. There are several different things that make the cells in the Header Rows and Columns different. Table of Contents Begin by locating and selecting the File option. Next, find the Print option from the dropdown and click on it. After that, look for the Headers Footers selection and click on it. Then, identify the desirable checkbox for your specific header or footer type and tick it.
Go to the Page Layout, Page Setup menu and click the Header/Footer tab. Choose Custom Header or Custom Footer, depending on where you want the sheet name to appear. Put the cursor in the Left, Center or Right sections and and select the icon that looks like a spreadsheet with multiple tabs at the bottom.
Inserting your Word documents file/path name into the footer or header will help you know where your document is located. Open Microsoft Word. Click the Insert tab. From the Header Footer group, click [Header] or [Footer]. From the drop-down menu, choose a Header or Footer style. Return to the Insert tab.
Go to Insert Header Footer. Excel displays the worksheet in Page Layout view. Select the left, center, or right header or footer text box at the top or the bottom of the worksheet page. Tip: Selecting any text box selects the header or footer and displays the Header and Footer Tools, adding the Design tab.
On the Insert tab, in the Text group and click the Header Footer button. On the Design tab, click Go to Footer or scroll down to the footer boxes at the bottom of the page. Depending on the desired location, click the left, center, or right footer box, and type some text or insert the element you want.
Go to Insert Header or Footer. Select Edit Header or Edit Footer. Select Quick Parts and select Field. In the Field names list, choose the field you want (such as FileName, Date, Author, or Title), choose the format you want in the Field properties section.
To insert the path and file name into a cell, use the function =CELL(filename). This will display both the files name and the active worksheets name.
Note: If you dont have a header or footer, add them by clicking Insert Header Footer. On the status bar, click the Page Layout View button. Select the header or footer text you want to change. On the Home tab in the Font group, set the formatting options that you want to apply to the header / footer.
