As Ubuntu cloud images are uploaded and registered on the Amazon EC2 cloud, they are referred to as AMI (Amazon Machine Images). Each AMI is a machine template from which you can instantiate new servers. Each AMI has its own unique ID. In order to launch an instance on the EC2 cloud, you first need to locate its ID.
Get the default user name for the AMI that you used to launch your instance: For Amazon Linux 2 or the Amazon Linux AMI, the user name is ec2-user. For a CentOS AMI, the user name is centos or ec2-user. For a Debian AMI, the user name is admin. For a Fedora AMI, the user name is fedora or ec2-user.
Take these steps to change name in AMI When your registration is finished, proceed to the Dashboard. Add the AMI to start editing online. Open your document and utilize the toolbar to add all desired adjustments.
You can select an OS image and its corresponding AMI from the AWS Marketplace. Alternatively, you can find AMIs using the Amazon EC2 console. You can select from the list of AMIs when you use the launch wizard to launch an instance, or you can search through all available AMIs using the Images page.
You can find the canonical user ID for your AWS account using the AWS Management Console or the AWS CLI. The canonical user ID for an AWS account is specific to that account. You can retrieve the canonical user ID for your AWS account as the root user, a federated user, or an IAM user.
That said, if its an amazon ami, then the default username is ec2-user. If the ami is from Canonical, then the default username is ubuntu. In addition, if youre looking for AMIs from Canonical, look for owner 099720109477, eg. aws ec2 describe-images | grep 099720109477 and see what that lands you.
To find the most recent AMI for your account, you can search with an AMS SKMS CLI command or use the AMS console details page for relevant VPC: Use the AMS console: Available AMIs are listed on the AMI page in the AMS console. Select from AMIs with names that begin with customer-.
An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) defines the programs and settings that will be applied when you launch an EC2 instance. Once you have finished configuring the data, services, and applications on your ArcGIS Server instance, you can save your work as a custom AMI stored in Amazon EC2.
