Pressing F5 is a well-known shortcut for refreshing a web browser, website, or webpage on Windows platforms, but using this shortcut on a Mac produces a different result. Instead of using F5, Command+R (or cmd+r) is the shortcut youll want to use to perform a refresh on Mac platforms.
Choose Apple menu  System Preferences. Click Keyboard. Select Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.
Command-F: Find items in a document or open a Find window. Command-G: Find Again: Find the next occurrence of the item previously found. To find the previous occurrence, press Shift-Command-G. Command-H: Hide the windows of the front app.
macOS Ventura Choose Apple menu  System Settings. Click Keyboard in the sidebar. Click the Keyboard Shortcuts button on the right. Click Function Keys in the sidebar. Turn on Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.
To use any function key, you hold fn , and the touch bar should switch to display the function keys. Its actually not much different from any other keyboard without a Touch Bar, where holding fn will switch the function between the media keys and the function keys.
To use the Fx keys as standard function keys, press and hold the Fn button and then press the required function key. If youre using a non-Apple keyboard that doesnt have an Fn key, try pressing and holding the Control key instead. You can change the default behavior of the function keys on Mac too, however.
Cut, copy, paste and other common shortcuts Command-X: cut the selected item and copy it to the Clipboard. Command-C: copy the selected item to the Clipboard. Command-V: paste the contents of the Clipboard into the current document or app. Command-Z: undo the previous command. Command-A: Select All items.
Press and hold the Fn (Function) key on your keyboard to see F1 through F12 in the Touch Bar. You can also make the function keys appear automatically when you use specific apps: Choose Apple menu  System Settings (or System Preferences), then click Keyboard.
