Steroid injections can cause atrophy or indents. its due to collagen production being shut off by the steroids. Atrophy does not happen to everyone. It is more likely to happen at higher doses of steroids (like 10 mg per mL of triamcinolone acetonide) but can happen at 5 mg per mL and even 2.5 mg per mL.
This happens when the steroid solution which is commonly known as Kenalog collects at the site of the injection, either in the muscle or in the fatty tissue. The steroid changes the consistency of the tissue causing tissue loss which results in a dent or dimple in the skin which is due to fat necrosis.
1) Fillers can fill in depressed areas on the nose. The indentation is a natural part of your anatomy. We only notice it in her because she has thin skin in this part of her nose. We filled it with a product called Restylane which is a relatively thin hyaluronic acid-type filler.
Surgery is the most common treatment for saddle nose deformity. However, some mild cases may respond to dermal filler injections.
If you have a nose tip indentation or vertical line on your nose, its probably a trait thats been inherited from your parents. Your genes determine the shape of your nose, and a split nose tip is no exception. Having a line on your nose tip is medically referred to as having a bifid tip nose.
The cartilage in the sides of your nose can consist of two separate parts, and when the gap between them is wide it creates a nose dimple tip. If the cartilages are convex in shape it can form a depression between them, also creating a dent on your nose, or bifid nose tip.
A hole (perforation) can form in the cartilage as a complication of previous nasal surgery, from cocaine use, excessive nose picking, trauma, cancer, or diseases such as tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, or syphilis. As damage reduces blood supply in the septum, the cartilage begins to die, and a hole forms.
In general, however, the nasal profile should be. straight. A slight barely noticeable dip at the junction between the dorsum and the tip of the nose is considered aesthetically pleasing. This tiny dip is called the supratip break.
