In the Insert Formula dialog box, click Insert Function. In the Categories list in the Insert Function dialog box, click Date and Time. In the Functions list, click now, and then click OK twice to return to the Date Picker Properties dialog box.
Lets try this now: Add the first date in some cell. Select that cell, right-click on the fill handle, drag it down or across several cells, and then release. In the context menu, click Series. In the Series dialog box, choose the appropriate Date unit and enter the Step value. Click OK.
Set one reference cell or named range equal to =NOW() or =TODAY() the value of which will auto update every time you edit a cell (i.e. every time the spreadsheet recalculates). Now set Data ribbon Data Validation for the date entry cell, choose type list and refer to our reference cell.
You can still insert them easily. Just type =TODAY() for the current date or =NOW() for the current time. These formulas will automatically update whenever you open the spreadsheet.
Step 1: Input the current date in a cell. Step 2: Use the Excel formula =DATE(year, month, day) to calculate the future date. Step 3: The formula takes three arguments: year, month, and day.
The easiest way to do this is to start from a format this is close to what you want. Select the cells you want to format. Press CTRL+1. In the Format Cells box, click the Number tab. In the Category list, click Date, and then choose a date format you want in Type. Go back to the Category list, and choose Custom.
Using the Formulas Tab Select the cell in which you want the current date to appear. Click the Formulas tab, then click Date Time on the Ribbon. Select TODAY from the drop-down menu. Click OK in the Function Arguments dialog box and the current date now appears in the cell, in the default date format.
To create a spreadsheet with a repeating date: Enter the date out in the desired cell that will begin your sequence. in the next cell below/to the right enter =cell that contains the date to be repeated. After this is done, hit enter, click the cell and drag the cell down from the bottom right.
