Whenever we create a new class, we come across variables and methods. In a class, the variables are private and we need methods to set or get them. The process where these variables are set using a constructor is called constructor injection.
Setter Injections They are preferred when we have some optional dependencies that are not mandatorily required but can assist in some ways. For example, lets say we have a new user in our application, and they have their phone number as an optional field in their profile details.
Setter injection is a dependency injection in which the spring framework injects the dependency object using the setter method. The call first goes to no argument constructor and then to the setter method. It does not create any new bean instance. Lets see an example to inject dependency by the setter method.
To use it, annotate the constructor with the @Inject annotation. This constructor should accept class dependencies as parameters. Most constructors will then assign the parameters to final fields. If your class has no @Inject -annotated constructor, Guice will use a public, no-arguments constructor if it exists.
Injection is a procedure of pumping cement-based, polyurethane-based, epoxy-based or special acrylate-based systems into damaged or cracked structures to securely seal leaks, repair compromised structures and make them watertight for the long term.
On the other hand, setter injection offers more flexibility by allowing dependencies to be set or changed after the object has been created. Constructor injection is favoured for mandatory dependencies, ensuring objects are fully initialised upon creation and promoting immutability.
The Spring team generally advocates constructor injection, as it lets you implement application components as immutable objects and ensures that required dependencies are not null .
