Hi everyone, Kevin here. Today I want to show you how you can create your very own fillable form using Microsoft Word. First off, what is a fillable form? You can have people go in and fill out a form, but they wonamp;#39;t be able to edit the questions or the structure of the form. You can use things like check boxes, text fields, drop down lists, date pickers, to build your form. Once someoneamp;#39;s finished completing your form, they can e-mail it back, they could print it out, or you could even connect it to a database. Connecting to a database is outside of the scope of todayamp;#39;s tutorial. Itamp;#39;s kind of like an docHub PDF form, but itamp;#39;s Microsoftamp;#39;s version of it. Iamp;#39;ve included sample files today if you want to follow along, otherwise letamp;#39;s jump on the PC and letamp;#39;s get started. Insert a Single Checkbox in Excel Open the Excel file where checkboxes are required. Click Insert, and move towards the right of most of the menu to find forms. Select the row where you want to insert the checkbox in your Excel. Click on Forms, and select Checkbox from the drop-down menu.
Place you cursor at the start of the first line. Go to the Developer tab, and then click Check Box. If you want a space after the check box, press Tab or Spacebar. Use a Tab character if you want to format the list item with hanging indentation, like Word applies to bulleted lists.
For a more efficient process, open the Font drop-down menu at the top of the Symbol pop-up menu and select Wingdings 2. Then, type the number 163 into the Character Code box near the bottom of the menu. This automatically highlights the checkbox symbol in blue.
Inserting Checkboxes: With the Developer tab enabled, Silva shows how to insert checkboxes into the document: Navigate to the Developer tab. In the Controls group, click the Checkbox Content Control button. Position the cursor where you want the checkbox and click to insert.
Select the Cells: Click and drag to select all the cells where you want checkboxes. Insert Checkboxes: Go to the Insert tab at the top of Excel. Look for the Insert tab and click on Checkbox. This will place a checkbox in each of the selected cells.

In the Control tab, go to the Alignment section. Choose the Center option for both the Horizontal and Vertical alignments. Click OK to close the Format Control dialog box. The checkbox will now be centered within the cell.
Go to the Insert tab Symbols group, and click Symbol. In the Symbol dialog box, on the Symbols tab, click the drop-down arrow next to the Font box, and select Wingdings. A couple of checkmark and cross symbols can be found at the bottom of the list. Select the symbol of your choosing, and click Insert.
