Setter-based injection for the @Inject annotation is similar to the approach used for the @Resource setter-based injection. Instead of annotating the reference variable, we annotate the corresponding setter method. The execution paths followed by field-based dependency injection also apply to setter based injection.
The injection in Spring is either done via setter, field or constructor injection. Classes which are managed by Spring DI must conform to the Java bean standard. In the context of Spring classes are also referred to as beans or as spring beans.
How to use the @Inject attribute The first step is to add the dependency injection framework to our Java project. Once we have a DI framework, we can use the @Inject annotation to mark fields or constructors for dependency injection. Finally, we need to configure dependencies in the DI framework.
In the Spring Framework, there are three main dependency injection techniques: Constructor Based Dependency Injection, Field or Property-Based Dependency Injection (@Autowired in a variable) and Setter Based Dependency Injection. We will now discuss which of these techniques is the best option in different situations.
The Spring-Core module is responsible for injecting dependencies through either Constructor or Setter methods. The design principle of Inversion of Control emphasizes keeping the Java classes independent of each other and the container frees them from object creation and maintenance.
Dependency Injection in java requires at least the following: Service components should be designed with base class or interface. Consumer classes should be written in terms of service interface. Injector classes that will initialize the services and then the consumer classes.
The behaviour of the @Autowired annotation is similar to the @Inject annotation. The only difference is that the @Autowired annotation is part of the Spring framework. This annotation has the same execution paths as the @Inject annotation, listed in order of precedence: Match by Type.
Property values can be injected directly into your beans using the @Value annotation, accessed via Springs Environment abstraction or bound to structured objects via @ConfigurationProperties . Spring Boot uses a very particular PropertySource order that is designed to allow sensible overriding of values.
