[Music] thank you hi everyone my name is Melissa and in this video I want to go over my approach to the conditional index challenge by bahati Gupta the task is to add an index number that restarts for each ID and begins in the row after the values in the date column hits 90 or greater than 90. if you havent participated yet and want to give this a go yourself I highly recommend it its loads of fun youll find the link in the description of this video alright lets go to the power query editor Im going to start with a group Buy on the ID column because that will return the table with unique ID values now there are three places where you can find Groupon so its in the transform section on the Home tab on the transform tab its in the table section right here but you can also right click the column header and find Group by there so it opens this dialog and you can do all kinds of aggregations here but I only want to segment my data therefore Ill choose the operation all rows and Il

There are two types of primary indexes: dense indexes and sparse indexes.
An index stores the location of records based on the field or fields that you choose to index. After Access obtains the location from the index, it can then retrieve the data by moving directly to the correct location.
Two main types of indexing methods are 1)Primary Indexing 2) Secondary Indexing. Primary Index is an ordered file which is fixed length size with two fields. The primary Indexing is also further divided into two types 1)Dense Index 2)Sparse Index.
Indexes are used to quickly locate data without having to search every row in a database table every time a database table is accessed. Indexes can be created using one or more columns of a database table, providing the basis for both rapid random lookups and efficient access of ordered records.
Kennedy (2003) describes a condition index is the largest to smallest characteristic root of XX; its a measure of how close XX is the perfect multicollinearity (called singularity).
The condition number of X is defined as (X) = max/min, where max and min are the maximum and min- imum singular values of X. Condition indexes are defined as k = max/k.
Types of indexes Unique indexes enforce the constraint of uniqueness in your index keys. Bidirectional indexes allow for scans in both the forward and reverse directions. Clustered indexes can help improve the performance of queries that traverse the table in key order.
Condition indices are a measure of the multi-colinearity in a regression design matrix (i.e., the independent variables). Multi-colinearity results when the columns of X have docHub interdependence (i.e., one or more columns of X is close to a linear combination of the other columns).
Indexes contain all the necessary information needed to access items quickly and efficiently. Indexes serve as lookup tables to efficiently store data for quicker retrieval. Table keys are stored in indexes. Indexes for non-key values can be created with a CREATE INDEX statement.
A GUID column is not the best candidate for indexing. Indexes are best suited to columns with a data type that can be given some meaningful order, ie sorted (integer, date etc). It does not matter if the data in a column is generally increasing.
