The commenting system on averagelinuxuser.com has been changed to better suit the static website built with Jekyll. Static websites are faster and easier to maintain, but integrating a commenting system can be challenging. Unlike dynamic websites like WordPress, static websites do not have a built-in commenting system. However, there are third-party solutions available, with Discus being one of the most popular options. This video tutorial will explore different commenting systems that can be added to static websites, starting with Discus.

Basic INDEX MATCH exact =INDEX(array, rownum, columnnum) =MATCH(lookupvalue, lookuparray, [matchtype]) Enter the formula: =( INDEX($B$3:$E$7,MATCH(H$2,$B$3:$B$7,0),2))
INDEX MATCH with multiple criteria enables you to do a successful lookup when there are multiple lookup value matches. This is the kind of magic you can do with INDEX MATCH with multiple criteria. Step 1: Insert a normal INDEX MATCH formula. Step 2: Change the lookup value to 1. Step 3: Write the criteria.
The XLOOKUP separates the lookup array and the return array into two arguments. The lookup array should house the value Excel will search for and the return array argument will house the value to be returned. The separation of the arrays makes the XLOOKUP much more flexible than the VLOOKUP.
While VLookup is great for searching for fields where you know the row, Index Match is much more flexible as you can search by row, or by column, or by both. In these situations its best to use Index Match instead of VLookup. The following examples will take you through how you can implement the Index Match formula.
VLOOKUP requires a static column reference whereas INDEX MATCH requires a dynamic column reference. With VLOOKUP you need to manually enter a number referencing the column you want to return the value from. As you are using a static reference, adding a new column to the table breaks the VLOOKUP formula.
But if your worksheets contain hundreds or thousands of rows, and consequently hundreds or thousands of formulas, MATCH INDEX will work much faster than VLOOKUP because Excel will have to process only the lookup and return columns rather than the entire table array.
The superior alternative to VLOOKUP is INDEX MATCH. While VLOOKUP works fine in most cases, it tends to reveal flaws when you start using it in large and complex sheets. The INDEX MATCH formula is actually two different functions; INDEX and MATCH. array is range of cells or an array constant.
The main difference between VLOOKUP and INDEX MATCH is in column reference. VLOOKUP requires a static column reference whereas INDEX MATCH requires a dynamic column reference.
The INDEX-MATCH-MATCH combines two MATCH statements into the row and column positions in an INDEX formula. In doing so, youre making a formula thats fillable left, right, up or down for when you merge or find data.
Microsoft recently announced the upcoming release of a new function called XLOOKUP. This function will be replacing the widely used VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP and INDEX/MATCH functions to run searches in a table of Excel data.
