In my custom QWERTY keyboard layout, I can simply press ⌥ + ⇧ + 2 to enter , and ⌥ + ⇧ + 3 to enter . (My custom AZERTY layout has these mappings, too.)
You can also use keyboard shortcuts to quickly apply superscript or subscript to selected text. For superscript, press Control-Shift-Command-Plus Sign (+). For subscript, press Control-Command-Minus Sign (-).
A much preferable way to quickly type subscript and superscript on the Mac is with two specific keyboard shortcuts in Pages app. In case it wasnt clear, thats Command+Control+Plus for superscript, and Command+Control+Minus for subscript.
You can also use keyboard shortcuts to quickly apply superscript or subscript to selected text. For superscript, press Control-Shift-Command-Plus Sign (+).
