here im going to show you how to route with vias and how to route under traces this is going to help really compact your design and keep things nice and short so ive got two examples here uh this trace gp4 needs to go to this pad gp4 on this esd protection diode array and similarly gp5 needs to come over here out to this header gp5 but as you can see we have this trace gp3 in the way so were going to do is start as you would normally route from the pad get somewhat close to gp3 and then press tab this will open up the properties uh panel uh for your piece for your trace were going to then change layers to the bottom layer and then hit this pause button again and now weve got a via attached to our trace and so because we selected the bottom layer now the trace that comes out of the via will be on the bottom layer of pcb and we can press tab once again to come back to the top layer and we just connect our trace like that so ill show you again with gp5 we simply come out maybe a bit
