My name is James Tyree Ive always had a love for history very much so but primarily because my grandfather he he was raised when things here were still being done the way they were you know in some cases 100 years earlier he was born in ,14, 1914 and just his stories made me want to learn how to do that stuff of course he always you know why you want to learn that silly stuff you know just like throwing out the corner cupboard so you could have a nice hoosier cabinet. But it still it set the foundation for wanting to learn the the older ways uh what was modern technology 200 years ago that unfortunately has been lost were progressive in this country and thats Ive spent my whole life trying to learn that you know traditional techniques in blacksmithing and woodworking, timber framing, stone masonry more than I could ever hope to accomplish in a dozen lifetimes. Weve done the easy part now you know as long as we we make sure well say its easy its

To create a Kubernetes secret, apply one of the following methods: Use kubectl for a command-line based approach. Create a configuration file for the secret. Use a generator, such as Kustomize to generate the secret.
The name field under volumeMounts identifies the storage volume that will be mounted to this container (pointing to the volume defined in the volumes spec below). The mountPath identifies where in the container filesystem the volume will be mounted.
Secrets can be mounted as data volumes or exposed as environment variables to be used by a container in a Pod. Secrets can also be used by other parts of the system, without being directly exposed to the Pod.
Millions of people have been impacted by the exposure of their sensitive data because it can often be found in companies log files and database backups. Read on to learn the best practices for keeping sensitive data out of your logs. Robust logging is a core part of software development.
You can store secrets in your source control (GitHub/Bitbucket/GitLab/..), CI/CD tool (GitHub Actions/CircleCI/Jenkins/..) or cloud (AWS Secret Manager/Azure Key Vault/GCP Secret Manager/..). You can even opt for third party key vaults like HashiCorp Vault but I am keeping them out of this discussion.
As soon as the Secret is injected into the Pod, the Pod itself can see the Secret data in plain text. Secrets are stored inside the Kubernetes data store (i.e., an etcd database) and are created before they can be used inside a Pods manifest file. Furthermore, Secrets have a size limit of 1 MB.
Here are some techniques to help us keep Kubernetes Secrets safe: Enable encryption at rest. Configure RBAC rules. Encrypt etcd data. Use a centralized Secrets store for easy management.
To make a secret available for a pod: Mount the secret as a file in a volume available to any number of containers in a pod. Import the secret as an environment variable to a container. Use kubelet, and the imagePullSecrets field.
