today Ill be working on my 2005 ski-doo renegade SDI it has a backfiring issue and Ive been wondering what it was been doing a lot of research and a lot of people have been pointing to a PTO valve this is something you cant easily test without a a leak test however there are a couple other methods one of them being you can spray some ether wd-40 right behind the primary clutch here and if it rubs up or changes in idling then thats a sign that it does have a leak the PTO seal is right here in inside neck on the crank shaft and if it has backfiring issues at end it tends to be air its a lean one of the options that could be is a lean mixture of gas and air and if it if you have a bad PTO valve then itll be receiving more air sucking air and through that seal into the crank and leaning out the mixture so one way to test this would be like I said to put some wd-40 or ether behind the primary clutch however that doesnt always work if its just a small leak so what I did is I removed
