welcome to fast tip Friday this is Amy Bowser with litigations art Peru todays fast tip is how to create a full text index across folders and subfolders of PDF files so that you can search across all of them quickly all at once okay so in this example I created a folder and then I have two subfolders and in each subfolder I have some PDF files these are just sample files okay so were gonna search across all of the folders and all of the PDFs alright so Im using docHub 11 Pro so if using an earlier version the options will be in slightly different places and the dialog boxes will look a little different were going to go to tools by default the section that we want to call document processing is not visible so were gonna click on this little icon and were gonna select document processing so the option were going to choose is this one full text index with catalog and thatll create the full text index that were looking for so Im going to click that gives you some informat

You can create and embed a search index for an opened PDF document. An embedded index increases file size but docHubly speeds up searching on very long documents. Once embedded, the index remains part of the file unless removed and makes searching truly portable.
Table of contents items need to be structured with tags nested under a parent tag. Beneath the tag the item description, leader and page number need to be present. It is recommended that lengthy documents (20 or more pages) contain a linked table of contents.
To target an HTML link to a specific page in a PDF file, add #page=[page number] to the end of the links URL.
