Okay, heres a quick tutorial on how to insert dot leaders for your tabs. First, Im gonna go to the Home Tab Paragraph Group and we hit that little arrow in the corner. Its going to give me the paragraph dialog box. Now, this is Indents and Spacing and thats not really what I need, so I go down to the bottom here, to the Tabs button, hit Tabs and then the Tab stop position. So this is which Tab stop am I trying to put the dots before? So its my 6-inch tab stop. I want dots before this tab stop, so Im going to highlight six inches and Im not going to change my alignment because its the way I want to. But heres the leader section, so right now its set for no leaders. Heres dot leaders, heres a dash leader and heres an underline leader. You can use the dash and the dot quite similarly. This you could use, like if youre creating a test and you wanted to make a blank for somebody to write in, for example. So Im going to click that and Im going to say, okay, and see how that p

The dot (.) matches any character. A single character that doesnt have any other special meaning matches that character. A string enclosed in brackets [ ] matches any single character from the string. Ranges of ASCII character codes may be abbreviated as in a-z0-9.
To express all words with at least one letter you can use expression ?* . In this expression the question mark represents a letter which must be present , the asterisk represents a string which may also be empty.
*$ means - match, from beginning to end, any character that appears zero or more times. Basically, that means - match everything from start to end of the string. This regex pattern is not very useful. Lets take a regex pattern that may be a bit useful.
If you have to match only a literal dot(.), you need to put it as \\.
This is sample text!; To split a string with dot, use the split() method in Java. str. split([.], 0);
The period (.) represents the wildcard character. Any character (except for the newline character) will be matched by a period in a regular expression; when you literally want a period in a regular expression you need to precede it with a backslash.
represents a single character (like the regexs . ) while * represents a sequence of zero or more characters (equivalent to regex . * ).
The dot represents an arbitrary character, and the asterisk says that the character before can be repeated an arbitrary number of times (or not at all). Save this answer.
Regular expressions and filenames specifies an actual dot in the filename. An asterisk (*) is the same as (matches 0 or more characters). A question mark (?) is the same as a regular expression dot (.); that is, a question mark matches exactly one character. A caret (^) has no meaning.
