Hello, and welcome to the video by SpreadsheetPoint. I am Sumit Bansal, and in this video, Im going to show you how to quickly add indentation in Google sheets. Now, let me first show you what I mean by indentation. So here I have this text, which is plain simple text and on the right here, I have the text, with indentation. You can see Category 1 is on the left, but these three items are a little to the right. So it makes it look as if these are within Category 1. So this is one way that you can use indentation to show main category and sub categories. Now, there are two ways you can insert indentation in Google Sheets. And, again, you can use these methods based on how your data is structured and how you want to get it. And let me quickly show you these two methods. The first one is using custom format. So here I have the same data and these are the cells where I want to insert in indentation - the one which have these items. So Im going to first select these. So Ive selected the

When you indent text in a cell in Microsoft Excel, you are creating a visual effect that can make data easier to read. By default, cells in Excel are left-aligned, which means that the text is flush with the left edge of the cell. When you indent text in a cell, you are essentially creating a margin within the cell.
To add tab stops: Select the paragraph or paragraphs where you want to add tab stops. Click the location on the Ruler where you want your text to appear. Select the desired tab stop. Place the insertion point at the location where you want to add the tab. Press the Tab key on the keyboard.
Set Specific Cell Indenting Space Select the cells you want to format. Right-click and select Format Cells. Click the Alignment tab. Under Text alignment, in the Horizontal box, select Left (indent).
Select the text that you want to indent and then go to the Format menu. Select the Paragraph submenu and then select the Indent button. This will indent your text by one tab. If you want to indent more than one tab, then you can use the Increase Indent button or the Decrease Indent button.
There are a few ways to indent in Google Sheets. The easiest way is to use the arrow keys on your keyboard. To indent one tab, press the Tab key once. To indent multiple tabs, press the Tab key multiple times.
To use the indent shortcut, first select the cell or cells that you want to indent. Then, press the Alt + Shift + I keys on your keyboard. This will add space before the contents of the selected cell or cells. To remove space, press the Alt + Shift + I keys again.
Indenting Individual Lines of Text in a Cell Select the desired cell(s). Turn on Wrap Text using the instructions above. Click your cursor into the desired cell. Type the desired text. To go to a new line, press [Alt]+[Enter]. To indent individual lines of text, use the space bar to insert the desired space.
Follow these steps: Highlight the chosen text. If you have multiple citation entries, press the enter key once after each entry. Click the Format option in the top menu. Open the Special indent drop-down menu and select Hanging. Adjust the depth of the indent as needed. Click Apply.
