How to Write a Good Statement of Work Introduce the project. You always begin the statement of work with an introduction. Define the vision. Set the project requirements. Define the scope. Set the deadline of the project. Allocate key resources. Create the schedule. Specify the terms of payment and due dates.
If you need the phrase (these are called restrictive clauses) following while, when, or which in order to convey the full meaning you intend, do not use a comma. You can also think of commas as signifiers of the omission of a sound -- either a letter, word, or even a phrase.
How to write a statement of work Begin with an introduction. Start by writing an introduction to the project and parties. Determine the objectives. Clarify the scope. Break down the tasks. State the work location. Outline the work schedule. Explain the deliverables. Create payment terms.
How to complete your SOW template Title. Label your document as a statement of work, then include your business name and your clients name. Introduction. Purpose and objectives. Tasks. Deliverables. Schedule. Location. Budget, pricing, and payment schedule.
When an occupation comes before a name, always enclose the name with two commas (or parentheses). Sometimes what comes in front of the name is an occupation, not a title. And if thats true, we DO use commas two of them around the name that follows.
Thats up to you. The states do not require or mandate the use of a comma between the title of your business and the corporation or LLC designation when naming your business. That said, many business owners prefer to use the comma to set apart their business name and to meet state requirements for the designation.
Common elements of an SOW include: Project objectives. Project scope. Major deliverables. Tasks that support the deliverables, and which party will complete them. Timeline for completion of work. Location of work and resources, equipment, and facilities needed. Payment costs, terms, and deadlines.
Define your goal and how youre going to docHub it. Expand on not only what is within the scope of the project, but what may be outside of it as well. Explain the purpose of your project in a way that will be crystal clear to all involved. The plan itself may be a dynamic process, but your clear, concise purpose wont.
